Mutual Aid App Concept: Last-Minute Local Rideshare to Voting Polls App.

Problem Statement:

A voter concerned about COVID-19 would like to accept a rideshare to the next voter polling station if their station is unexpectedly closed, but needs to feel sure that the service they are using is trustworthy and reliable.

User Tasks: Rider

  • open app
  • coming from home to polls /from polls to home/ from closed poll to another poll
  • schedule home pickup in advance or ask for asap pickup
  • enter pickup /dropoff location
  • enter additional assistance needed
  • how many in pod?
  • are you comfortable sharing your pod?
  • assigned a driver with updated arrival times every few minutes. phone number is exchanged
  • call HQ hotline if driver is not communicating, is late, or you have concerns.
  • give feedback at end of ride/signal ride completion.

User Tasks: Driver

  • notification that ride has been assigned.
  • open app
  • see user location / name + phone number /number of people / accommodations needed
  • accept ride, call HQ if can’t accept ride
  • directions page (or pop-out to maps)
  • drop off.

  • report any feedback or issues.
  • complete COVID cleaning checklist in preparation for next driver.
